Monthly Newsletter beginning September 2010

Hello Fellow Quilters~
Welcome to the first QGN for 2010. Thank you to all of you who were able to make it to this year’s annual quilt gathering. It was held in Okanogan, WA at the American Legion Hall for those of who were not able to make it. It was a good turn out and we all had a good time even though it poured rain and hailed. Camping outside became quite an interesting adventure. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the yummy zucchini bread that was provided by Mom/Aunt Jo :-).

We thought it would be good to gather feedback on this year’s quilt gathering to see what worked best? What could be improved or added for next year’s quilt gathering? Also, we are still requesting feedback from everyone on previous quilt gatherings please. The website blog is under construction and in the process of being updated so please check back often to see the updates.

Currently Looking For
Please submit any particular list of items that you are searching for in order to complete a project. We all live in a variety of places and this way when we come across what someone needs hopefully we can help each other out of where to try looking, etc. so that those projects can become finished…yay :-)!

Accomplishments & Works in Progress
Please submit pictures of what you are currently working on or what you may have already finished that you would like to share with the group so that we can all admire each other’s work throughout the year leading up to the next quilt gathering.

Please see the enclosed insert for everything you will need- template, sewing directions, materials list, and all the step by step photos that will be very helpful. The finished lap quilt is 52” square. Enjoy!

Interest & Reading Corner
What kind of upcoming events/happenings/festivals are you aware of that you think others might enjoy checking out? Any new quilt or fiber stores of interests? We would love to hear from you of what new & exciting things are happening near you.
Are there any new books or magazines that you would recommend sharing? We would love to hear from you so that others can check them out too.

Group Question
Can we help promote a similar weekend gathering (probably not quilting) for the guys? …Unless your guy friend/family member likes to quilt :-)…and I know there are some guys out there that do which is awesome.
