Last Minute Tidbits for QG 2010

Hello fellow Quilt Gatherers!

1) PROJECT(s) You are welcome to bring your most current quilting project or a project that you need help fixing or maybe finishing up. (If all your projects are completed, we will be highly suspicious of you) Please bring your favorite completed projects from the last year for show & tell!

2) PICTURES If you have pictures of past Quilt Gatherings, please bring them to share! Whether they are printed out or on a CD or memory stick = please bring them with you. We are still trying to gather photos of passed Quilt Gatherings to help capture some of our family history in this blog. Your help to build the blog and continue this annual event would be wonderful!

2) GOODIES Instead of roasting tins this year, there will be goody bags -- brown paper bags the size of a lunch bag. If you would like to bring small items to contribute to the goody bags, please make sure they are small enough to fit into a bag this size easily.

3) FOOD Please contact Aunt Jo as soon as possible to let her know what you are planning to bring for food, if you are planning on contributing to the munchies. (We don't want to end up with 17 loaves of bread and a case of soda for the weekend. Oh my! :-o) If you're not bringing food, please let us know that too.

4) SLEEP Be sure to bring pillows, blankets, a sleeping bag -- whatever your bedding is -- for your sleep over. There are sleep spaces available, however they are limited. There are a wide variety of hotels in the area if you would rather make your own lodging arrangements. You are also welcome to pitch your tent in the park next to the American Legion Hall. How much of an adventure would you like to have? :-)

5) The all important DIRECTIONS:

You are welcome to arrive to
Aunt Jo's house in Omak (if you know where that is)
or
you can arrive to the event location at the
American Legion Hall
in Okanogan.
The American Legion Hall is a white, one story building that sits at the South end of the American Legion park where the Okanogan Farmer's Market is held each Saturday.
The American Legion park can be
found on Google maps as
2nd & Harley St, Okanogan, WA, 98840
If you follow signs for the Farmer's Market and
go to
the South end of the park,
you'll find us!

If you are more of a landmark person, below are some landmark directions.
(The American Legion Park is between Omak and Okanogan
on the West side of the Okanogan river.)

Getting there from OKANOGAN...
If you go into Okanogan from Highway 97, stop at the four way stop with the flashing red light in downtown Okanogan and go North between the gas station and the Post Office on the main street. In a few blocks, the park will be on your right-- immediately after the U & I Motel. You can pull in the driveway for the American Legion Hall from the road you're on; you don't need to go into the park to gain access to the building.
If you pass the gazebo in the park on the right, or the Okanogan PUD on your left = you've gone too far! :-o

Getting there from OMAK....
If you travel on Highway 97 all the way up to the stop light on the highway where the Walmart, McDonalds, Burger King and Shell station are, turn West (that would be left) and follow the main road all the way through Omak. You will go straight for awhile, go down the hill (mind the 25 mph speed limit! :-o), the road will turn left and then there will be a stop light. Continue straight through town, pass the Chevron station on your right and pass Blockbuster video, and then the road will turn right and then left. Further still on the same road, you will drive passed car lots on your right and left and pass Mid-Valley Hospital on your right. You will be able to see the river on your left by now... you're not there yet. Keep going! :-) You will continue on through a semi-industrial area, pass a car wash on your right and watch for the park on your left in a few blocks. The gazebo is on the opposite end of the park from the American Legion Hall. The building is white, brick and only one-story at the other end of the park. You can pull in the driveway for the American Legion Hall from the road you're on; you don't need to go into the park to gain access to the building.
If you get to the four way stop with a flashing red light in Okanogan = you've gone too far! :-o

See you very soon!
:-)
